A cat called Cat Stevens was found with a severed head and tail in Jar in Bærum on Thursday. Police have no suspects in the case.
A police patrol found the mutilated cat in the middle of the road near the owners’ house, writes TV2 news.

By the time Cat Stevens was found, he had been missing for five weeks. Police said it appears that the head and tail had been cut off with a knife or an axe.

– The only thing that is certain is that the head has not been removed by another animal.

The cat has not been hit. It does not look that way, says veterinarian Wenche Bjerke. She took Cat Stevens when police tried to find the owners through the cat’s chip.

– There is a very sick person in the neighborhood somewhere. We want to warn the neighbors since very many cats live here.

People need to take good care of cats, says owner Eline Amundsen Molvig.
Police have not received any other messages about mistreatment of cats recently.
