Checks on persons at the ferry arrivals from Denmark, Sweden and Germany will continue up to and including June 11 after the temporary control at internal Schengen border extended.

The border control is extended for reasons of public order and the internal security, said the Ministry of Justice.
– There are many unregistered migrants in the Schengen area who may wish to move to another country. Norway’s introduction of controls at internal border have good preventive effect on any arrivals, and there is no report that the controller has caused inconvenience for ordinary travelers, says Justice and Emergency Minister Anders Anundsen .
The Ministry points out that there is still pressure on the perimeter, and that despite several initiatives, there are still deficiencies in external border control in Greece. That is why the European Commission has recommended that Norway and several other Schengen countries will have the opportunity to continue in control of the internal boundary beyond limit provisions of the maximum limit of eight months.
The final decision is expected to be released this week.
