For the first time, two Chinese astronaunts arrived at China’s new space laboratory on Wednesday
Jing Haipeng was the first to be able to fly into the space station Tiangong-2 (Heavenly Palace), followed by Chen Dong shortly afterwards, according to Xinhua news agency.
The two are scheduled to be on the space station for 30 days before returning to Earth.
Tiangong-2 laboratory, which was sent up to space in September, is in circulation 393 kilometers above the Earth.
China is betting big money on its space program, which is run by the military. The goal is to catch up to the US, Russia and Europe.
