Chinese police have arrested two Chinese elevator installers who cut the power to a lift in the city Xian. They did not check whether anyone was still in the elevator at the time when they cut the power.
The power to the lift was switched off on 30 January after residents of the apartment block had reported an elevator error.
On March the 1 the elevator installers came back to rectify the error. When they opened the doors to the elevator, they found the body of a woman.
The 43-year-old woman lived by herself and no one had reported her missing. The two elevator installers will now be prosecuted for manslaughter.
