The parliamentary majority see no reason to change the Norwegian form of government from a monarchy to republic.
This was highlighted when a constitutional proposal to change the form of government was debated and dealt with on Thursday.
The proposal that Norway should become a republic, only got support from the SV representatives and some representatives from the Labor and  Left. It fell by 28 to 135 votes.
The SV representatives Hallgeir Langeland and Snorre Valen and Labor representatives Eirin Sund, Truls Wickholm, Marianne Marthinsen and Jette F. Christensen were behind the proposal.
