From Thursday morning and the following day the police will put in place special emergency measures against speeding across the country.

The Control Day , which has been named Speed Marathon will also be conducted in over 20 European countries under the auspices of the European traffic police cooperation TISPOL.
-The purpose of the monitoring measures is to prevent and detect speeding and to reduce the numbers killed and seriously injured on Norwegian roads, says UP chief Runar Karlsen in a statement.
From 6 o’clock Thursday to 6 o’clock Friday UP will put in place 65 speed traps at different places in each of the five UP districts.
In all, 180 people will be involved in the operation, which comes in addition to the regular monitoring activities, says Karlsen.
