Crown Prince Haakon said Norway will respect the outcome of the U.S. election, and that it is important that Norway maintains a good relationship with the United States.
During a visit to the Marine Institute in St. John’s, in Canada, the Crown Prince commented on the presidential election in the United States to the news agency NTB.
Asked whether the Crown Prince and Princess were surprised by the choice, the Crown Prince responded, smiling:
‘Americans have the made the choice of who they want as president. That is something Norway, of course, relate to.’
The Prime Minister has also stated that it is important we have a good relationship with the US, as it has been previously.
The Crown Prince and Princess are in the process of completing their official visit to Canada.
The visit began in Ottawa on Monday. They also visited Toronto, before heading to St. Johns.
