The Crown Prince couple visited the church summit

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit took part at the start of the meeting of the WCC in Trondheim  along with Christian leaders and heads of churches from around the world.

The meeting, which will last until June 28th, opened with a religious service in the cathedral on Wednesday evening. Topics such as religion and violence, children’s rights and the situation in the Middle East will be at the top of the agenda.

The entire Norwegian royal family is in Trondheim in connection with the 25th anniversary of the consecration of King Harald and Queen Sonja.
The anniversary will be celebrated with a church service in the cathedral at 12 o’clock Thursday. Virtually all of the government will be present, as well as the parliamentary president, Chief Justice, many of members of parliament, county, county mayors and a number of Trøndelags mayors.
The service will be broadcast on NRK1.
