At the end of the children’s summer holiday, there will be a birthday celebration in the Crown family. There is no father present.

Crown Prince Haakon, who became 43 years earlier in the summer, is still in Rio and follows the summer games. He is scheduled to be there until Saturday, and then will be awaiting a pretty long journey home before he is back.

– The Crown Princess celebrates the birthday privately, says communications manager Marianne Hagen at the Royal Palace to news agency NTB and will say neither where or with whom the festivities will take place.

Crown Princess’s birthday on August 19 is also a flag day in the country.

Back to school and VM

Next week it is back to school for Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Ingrid Alexandra. The Princess begins in seventh grade, past elementary school level, at Oslo International School on Bekkestua, while the prince is to begin sixth grade at the Montessori School in Oslo.

When Crown Prince Haakon comes home to Norway, he is regent a period and will follow H. M. King’s series of races along with Crown Princess Mette-Marit next week.

King Harald is in fact out sailing, something he has done for a while now. With the Royal Yacht Norway as a base he is completely going over the Atlantic to sail the World Championships in Toronto at the age of 79 years.

Together with the crew of Sira, he warmed up to sail in the North American championship, where they took 2nd place overall in the 8-meter class. Friday he sails Sira Cup in the same class. The championships held from 19 to 27 August, with five competition days for the classic boats.

High pressure

Queen Sonja’s next highlight on the calendar is the distribution of her self-initiated graphic prize Queen Sonja Print Award, which she hands out next Friday in the Grieg Hall in Bergen.

The day after she opens the exhibition “Texture” same place, together with multi-artist Magne Furuholmen. When the queen had her first show with their own pressure in Helsingborg in 2011, it was parallel to the Furuholmen that had exhibit at the same place.

When King Harald is back, the whole family will gather to one of autumn’s definite highlight. In connection with the celebration of their 25 years as a royal couple, this year there will be held several garden parties in Norway and concludes with a recent garden party in the Palace Park on September 1, with 1,500 invited guests from all over the country.
