Dark Room accused sentenced to 3½ years in prison

A 31-years-old man from Bergen is sentenced to three and a half years’ imprisonment for participation in 30 abusive chats, sharing of abusive material and purchase of a sex doll.


The man was one of the first to be arrested in the Dark Room case, writes Bergens Tidende.

He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison in Bergen District Court on Friday. According to the verdict, the 31-years-old has encouraged child abuse and has contributed to increased risk of child abuse all the way down to infancy.

The man was charged, among other crimes, for having participated in 30 abusive chats, sharing of gross abuse material and for purchasing a child-like doll. The man claims that he has been hacked.

“I must have been hacked, but I don’t know who or why someone wants to hurt me. But he knows a lot about me and my family,” the man states in court.

The Police believes that he has chatted and shared gross images and videos involving sexual assault. The sharing has been with several men associated with the Dark Room complex. One of the user profiles that the police believe belongs to the 31-years-old allegedly chatted with a father. The man, who is in his forties, is already sentenced to nine years imprisonment for sexual assaults against his own daughters.

Another of the contacts the 31-years-old is supposed to have chatted with; is a 48-years-old Labour politician, who is sentenced to 16 years in prison for assaulting numerous Filipino children. The politician was found out during the investigation of the 31-years-old.
The court finds no mitigating circumstances and sentences the man to pay court costs of NOK 50,000.
