Parliament is going in on for requiring a police certificate of good conduct from anyone employed in elderly care. This is clear after a unanimous healthcare committee submitted a recommendation on the matter on Thursday.

– This has been a main issue for me a long time, and it is lovely to finally be able to deliver, says Progress Party elderly spokesperson Bård Hoksrud.

The requirement in the municipal health and care services should include information that emerges in a childcare certificate and details of any charges and prosecutions related to body infringement / bodily injury, threats, deprivation of liberty, property crime and fraud.
– The aim is to prevent the elderly from becoming victims of abuse, say Hoksrud.
