A foundation applied to the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training with a wish to start a muslim primary school in Greenland, Oslo, but according to the website Kommunal Rapport, they have been rejected.

The board of the foundation The Muslim elementary school is now considering whether to appeal the decision to the Ministry of Education and Research.
– We have three weeks left to decide what to do. We think it is about time that there is a Muslim school in Oslo, but the formalities must of course be in place, says foundation Executive Director Siri Helene Derouiche said.

The Foundation’s purpose is to establish and operate a private elementary school on Muslim based in Oslo. The school would be located in the district Greenland and have Norwegian as a teaching language.

In 2014 the Ministry of education said no to a Muslim elementary school in Oslo.
