Doctor accused of sexual abuse of five women

Than previously general practitioner is accused of having abused his position to obtain sexual relations with five patients. The doctor himself thinks he was doing his work in a proper way.

The alleged abuses, according to the indictment, happened during gynecological examinations when the man was working as a doctor at a medical center in Trondheim in the period 2004-2006. His positions in that period of time included general practitioner, the newspaper Adresseavisen writes
– This is a serious indictment. That he is charged with abusing his position, means that is a particularly serious case,  police superintendent Geir-Ole MOMYR at the central police station in Trondheim says to newspaper.
The doctor, who denies culpability, face up to six years in prison if he is convicted. According to the indictment, all the five women subjected to “wholly or partly unfounded examinations” of their abdomen when they visited the doctor.
The police also investigated three of the cases after three of the women pressed charges against him. However, these were dropped because of the state of the evidence in 2006. In February last year was, however, the police received a new report of the doctor, concerning another instance of alleged abuse. This meant that they began to look at the dismissed cases again.
First District Attorney Bjørn Kristian Soknes charged the doctor with these crimes in February. The criminal case against the man who , according to his lawyer, Thomas Lidal Jamne, currently is not employed , has not yet been scheduled.
