Doping drugs for tens of million Nok were seized, customer lists found and several have been arrested after the police is about to roll up a criminal doping cartel.
The case started with a record seizure in Upper Eiker in December when the police came across doping drugs to a value of almost 29 million Nok, according to TV 2. Since then, several people have been arrested in a series of police operations relating to the sale of doping agents in the bodybuilding community. As late as Tuesday several people were arrested at a fitness center in Hokksund due to the investigation.
In a joint operation called Operation Storm Fall , both production, sale, possession and use of doping agents have been revealed. Sales have been taking place via encrypted websites and emails.
– This has been available to anyone who is part of the bodybuilding community. Everyone knows about these sites, it is a complete online store and they probably sell throughout the entire country, said sheriff Stig Rønneberg.
During the investigation, the police have managed to extract extensive customer lists with hundreds of names.
– They’d better be a little worried as the police will follow up these cases, says Rønneberg.
