Electric bicycle-money to rich people

Millionaires, directors and editors are on the list of Oslo people who have received money from the city parliament to buy electric bicycle.

Oslo’s new City Government have given up to the amount of five thousand kroner to 1,019 people to buy expensive elsykler.
The newspaper Dagbladet has now gained insight into who has received support. Several of them belong to society’s absolute rich people, writes the newspaper. Among the people are many millionaires, one shipowner, directors and prominent editors.

Some of the names on the list is former mayor Fabian Stang, shipowner Morits Skaugen, multimillionaire Richard T. Andvord, director Erik Nadheim and jurist Knut Brofoss. Also editor Gunnar Stavrum in online newspaper Nettavisen.

Commissioner for Transport and Environmental Affairs in Oslo, Lan Marie Nguyen Berg, says idea is to get people to switch from cars to electric bicycle.

This applies whether you are poor or rich. Now we will evaluate the scheme and see if it has had the desired effect, she says.
