Europeans are not listening to advice about eating ‘five a day’. Only one of seven eat enough fruit and vegetables, and Norwegians are among the worst.

This shown by the new figures from the EU statistics agency Eurostat.

On average, 14.1 percent of respondents in the EU survey said that they eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

In Norway the number is only 6.5 percent. In the countries surveyed, only Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria are the one that have numbers that are weaker.

It is however more Norwegians than average who say they eat fruit daily. The EU says 34.4 percent of respondents said that they do not eat fruit daily, while the share is at 30.9 percent in Norway.
