Fewer people got infected by  HIV last year than in any of the previous ten years, according to figures from the Health Directorate.
According to the Directorate of Health, this is because of several years of preventive work targeting men who have sex with men. It’s in this group that the number of new infections has declined.
Many things has been done to get the numbers down. Among other things, they have worked to get more people to use anonymous home testing, so that more people will test themselves. The fact that the most vulnerable groups have received more free condoms have also been crucial; consistent use of condoms is the most important measure in preventing HIV
