A Finnish man died in a paddle accident in Lofoten Thursday afternoon. The man paddled at Unstad in Vestvågøy when he fell out of the kayak.

The man was taken ashore and treated by emergency services at the site, but his life could not be saved.

Police said it was a Finnish man who died.
– He has been out and paddled together with a group. This group is now offered all the crisis monitoring we have to offer.

The plan was the journey home Friday and it will most likely do, said police efforts leader on site, Ruben Evjen, to Lofotposten.

Witnesses should have seen the man fall out of the kayak. After being brought ashore, it was attempted lifesaving, but after an hour, the man was pronounced dead.
