A man is flown by air ambulance to Haukeland University Hospital after he was caught in an avalanche at Roldal in Hordaland Sunday afternoon.
The man was skiing along with four other people when they were caught in a so-called flakes avalanche in the area. All five were taken by the avalanche, but the situation for the other four is not considered to be serious.
– He was brought out from the avalanche area by a  snowmobile and had difficulty breathing. Health personnel on site considered his condition to be serious enough to put him on an air ambulance to the hospital in Bergen, operations leader Tatjana Knappen at  West police district says.
The police will collect information about the area where the landslide struck and are considering sending out a warning about the avalanche danger.
