A man in his 40’s was convicted of sexually abusing three boys over 20 years.

The man was found guilty of the accusations in Bergen district court.

The former politician was guilty of sexual abuse, and his defender requested acquittal.Experts said in court that he could have a pedophile profile, something he refused.

The defendant, however, acknowledged that he had abuse material in the form of pictures and videos with children, which the defendant believed could be punished
with about 60 days imprisonment, wrote Bergens Tidende newspaper.

Attorney in the case, Attorney General Rudolf Christoffersen, went to court for custody because he believed “ordinary prison” was not sufficient to protect society against the defendant. He demanded 13 years of custody and said that the abuses were well planned and that there were at least 200 incidents.

The court handed out a sentence of eleven years, with a minimum period of seven years and four months.

The defendant was charged with hundreds of assaults against minors. The youngest victim was five years old and this boy is still in childhood.

The assault charges applied to him and two other boys during the period 1997 to 2016.

The three gave all their evidence in court, the youngest through video footage.

Several other possible assaults against 14 other boys were dropped in the accusation as the cases were outside the statute of limitations.
