Earlier Oslo Mayor and current member of parliament Peter N. Myhre (Progress Party) compare use of the religious scarf, hijab, with using Nazi costumes.

He believes that if you have to accept people with hijab in barbershop then we must also accept people wearing Nazi costumes as customers, NRK reported.

After the verdict in Jæren district court on Monday, where a hair dresser was sentenced for refusing to have a woman with hijab in lounge access, Myhre posted a status update on Facebook where he wrote that “So if a man wearing Nazi uniform enters a barber shop then hairdresser just politely say “Welcome, please just take a sit here Mr. Oversturmbannführer (Norway Today, Oversturmbannführer: paramilitary Nazi Party rank used by both the SA and the SS), how do we want to have it today?”.

He says he is “very surprised” over the verdict that hairdresser Merete Hodne was ordered to pay 10,000 kroner in fines.

– It may indicate that no matter how you dress or appear, so you should demand full service everywhere. Therefore, I have asked that question, says Myhre.

Rune Berlund Steen as a leader in Anti-Racist Center call Myhre status as “inappropriate” and believes it was inconceivable that the court would have come to any other decision.
