A strike in the sanitation sector has been averted after the transport workers and NHO Transport reached an agreement. There was a danger that the garbage disposal service would be put on hold in several places if there was to be a strike.

Just before midnight on Saturday the the parties reported that they had come to an agreement.
The Norwegian Transport Workers’ Union writes that they prevailed with demands including that the minimum wage will increase in line with the front trade

– I am pleased that we through this mediation were able to resolve  difficult issues which brings hope for the development of the industry  in the years ahead. Looking at the overall picture,  I think we have achieved a lot, chief negotiator  of the Transport Workers’ Union, Ole Einar Adamsrød, says.
