In a survey Gay Youth has made among its own members, four out of ten reply that they have been bullied for their sexual orientation.
Gay Youth and the National Association for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people (LLH) are behind the survey. A total of 378 former and current members of Gay Youth responded.
Nearly 40 percent of the respondents report having been bullied or harassed on the basis of their sexual orientation in school, and 30 per cent on the basis of their gender identity or expression, Blikk writes.
Eirik Rise, leader of Gay Youth, said the figures confirm that queer youth experience more bullying and harassment than average.
