The Government launches new grant programs to create economic development and vocational training in developing countries. They have set aside a sum of NOK 500 million over five years.
– With these plans, we want to build relevant vocational skills and create jobs and economic development for the rapidly growing population in the poor countries, Foreign Minister Brende said in a statement.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) points out the importance of vocational training of young people in developing countries, where the quality of labor is poor and labor shortages great.
– This is especially serious when we know that youth cohorts in many poor countries will increase in future years. Strengthening education, vocational education and economic development are therefore top priorities in the Government’s development policy, says Brende.
One scheme, called “Enterprise Development for Jobs,” whose purpose is to contribute to business creation and job creation. The second scheme, “Building Skills for Jobs’, will contribute to the education of young people and adults.
– We encourage partnerships between private businesses, governments, educational institutions and organizations. Together we can contribute to positive change in the communities in poor countries, says Foreign Minister
