Several major hotels will have to close when several thousand employees in the hotel and restaurant industry go on strike. Fellesforbundet is furios over local negotiations not being allowed. All the other divisons in NHO has for many years accepted our right to local negotiations. This was our main requirement this year and is something we believe our opposite party certainly ought to have accepted, Jørn Eggum, the leader of the Joint Federation, said to NTB.
But NHO service were not willing to do that. And the amount of money demanded in the negotiations was unacceptable for the employers. This means that the disagreement between tha parties has turned into a full conflict.
3351 members in 356 NHO enterprises in Rogaland, Hordaland, Nordland, Oslo, Sør-Trøndelag and Vestfold will go on strike from 8 o’clock Sunday morning. The same applies to 99 members in seven companies in Buskerud, Oslo, Sør-Trøndelag and Hordaland. Both hotels, cafeterias and restaurants are affected.
