Helicopter hunt after car crash in Notodden

Two Lithuanian men left the scene of a collision at Gransherad in Notodden were found on a mountain shelf. Both were, according to police, under the influence.

 

The accident, which happened at the Prestur Tunnel, was reported Saturday night.

– A car has crashed into the mountain side. Both airbags were triggered, but no people were found nearby, reported Southeast Police District.

A helicopter with heat-seeking equipment was put into the search, and on a mountain shelf the police found the two.

The men, both Lithuanians, have been taken to emergency for check ups. According to the police it is unclear who drove the car, but both are referred to as under the influence and had to get blood tests.
