Justice Minister, Tor Mikkel Wara of Fremskrittsparti (Frp) said the situation at Holmlia in Oslo is unacceptable and promised that ‘Young Bloods’ gang will be stopped.

For over ten years, ‘Young Bloods’ have been active in Holmlia, according to VG newspaper, who wrote that the police have not been able to catch up with them during this time.

Wara said he is very concerned about the situation and fears an escalation of gang crime.

‘’It’s unacceptable. For so many years, gangsters should not have been allowed to develop a business that terrorises the local community. There is no doubt that this gang should be stopped.’’

VG newspaper wanted to know if the justice minister thought police had done a good job, but Wara says he can not answer for now. He will keep an eye on how the police use their funds in the future. And it will take more than five months before they can make a good assessment of the effect of the NOK 30 million extra that was granted to the Oslo police in 2018,” he said.

“So at some point, I might think if they have done a good job, but I do not say anything about it today,” he said. The newspaper then asked the Justice Minister if he can live with the situation in Holmlia, as it is today.

‘’No, I think this is unacceptable. One thing is if I can live with it, but those at Holmlia should not have to live with it.’’
