This autumn young women will be offered free HPV vaccine

From November all women born in 1991 and laterwill be offered the HPV vaccine for free.

The vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) consists of three doses of vaccine given within six to twelve months. The offer will apply for two years, according to Public Health.
HPV is the most common sexually transmitted virus, and the virus can cause cervical cancer.
The parliament decided before the New Year that women born in 1991 and later will be offered a free vaccine against the virus.The vaccination will begin on 1 November this year.
The HPV vaccine was introduced into the childhood immunization for girls in 7th grade in 2009 and since then girls at the age of twelve have also been vaccinated.
