Injecting rooms in Oslo and Bergen are today currently only open to users who inject heroin. Labor and the Liberals are committed to open them for other drugs.

The proposal amending the Injection Act, will be taken to the Parliament during the winter, stated NRK news.
There are currently two legal injection rooms in Norway. The first was opened in Oslo in 2005. In autumn, another opened in Straxhuset in Bergen.
In both these rooms, there are currently only allowed to inject heroin.
– We have long promoted a desire for consumption facilities where one has the opportunity to take other drugs, says Hugo Torjussen, head of Straxhuset in Bergen.
– The purpose of the law is to improve the hygiene, making it easier to get in contact with the welfare and prevent germs and infections.
Why it should only apply to those who inject heroin is a little hard to understand, says Torjussen.
