Iraqi indicted for four rapes and four attempted rapes

A 37 year old Iraqi man i accused of four rapes and four attempted rapes, committed in Oslo in 2007, 2008 and 2010. In seven of the cases, the man assaulted women, writes the newspaper Dagbladet.

It is not often we have cases where someone is accused of so many sexually motivated assault, said prosecutor Nina Søndersrød, who has taken out the indictment, to newspaper Dagbladet.
The man came to Norway as an asylum seeker in 2005, when he fell to the attention of the police after the rape in 2010, he went to the home country.
– He’s been clamoring internationally since 2010, and ultimately chose to come to Norway voluntarily, says Søndersrød.
The man, according to the indictment raping or attempting to rape women in many parts of central Oslo. After a rape outside Oslo City Court in October 2010, it was taken DNA sample of the man and the police then got hits on unsolved cases from 2007. But when he was arrested he had left Norway.
