A Swedish motorcyclist was charged by police on the weekend after being caught by radar at 186 km / h on the E6 at Romerike. Police believe the man rode even faster.

The man, who is in his 20s, and a resident of Romerike, rode away from Police patrol Saturday night, but the police had secured the registration number of the motorcycle when tracking him on the radar gun. After a while, both the motorcycle and the man were found in Jessheim, writes newspaper Romerikes Blad.

– He had parked the motorcycle somewhere other than where we found him. He had the key in his pocket, and no choice but to acknowledge the run, said police Chief Stein Olaf Røberg in Eastern Police District.
Røberg thinks the rider had been riding at a higher rate of speed than the 186 km / h he was caught at. The speed limit on that stretch of highway is 110 km / h. He is now awaiting trial and likely to face a long period as a pedestrian.
– I hope that prosecutors suspend his license for a long time. Such drivers are good to get away from the roads, said Røberg.
