When she was to introduce Kim Friele and summarize what she has fought for,  Crown Princess Mette-Marit burst into tears.

The two of them and Friele’s biographer Ola Henmo, met at Gol library for a conversation about those who feel excluded  by or are outside of  mainstream society, when is touching scene unfolded:
– I’m deeply moved, this is a great day for me. This is a great honor for me, you are one of my big role models,  the Crown Princess said in the middle of her introduction of the small strong woman who has fought for gay rights for many years.
The conversation revolved loosely around Frieles life and Henmo’s biography “Fighting” about the 81-year-old, still full of fighting spirit , but  also  touched upon the subject of this year’s Litteraturtog: those who feel excluded by or are outside of mainstream society. Friele pointed her finger at a society where large groups are invisible, where we only talk about integrating people, not including them:
– We are glad when we find somewhere to put them, but we don’t show them respect, as long as these groups seem to get by without any major problems, we think everything is in order. We really ought to be ashamed of ourselves!
And if anyone thought she complains and goes on terribly, the message is clear:
– I keep on sounding off, and I’m going to keep on doing that until they snap the lid shut on me!
