King and Queen with Crown Prince and Princess will not travel to Sweden to participate in the celebration of King Carl Gustafs 70th birthday. This is due to the helicopter accident at Turøy.
The King has asked Princess Martha Louise and Ari Behn to represent the Norwegian royal family in Sweden, says the palace to news agency NTB.
– I have with great sadness received the news of the helicopter accident at Turøy near Bergen. On behalf of myself and the royal family, I express our condolences and deepest sympathy to the bereaved and all those affected, wrote King Harald in a condolence message to Statoil on Friday afternoon.
The King, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Märtha Louise and Ari Behn were scheduled to travel to Sweden on Saturday to participate in the celebration of King Carl Gustafs 70th birthday.
