KrF (Christian Democratic Party) wants to increase cash-for-care benefits by 50 percent from NOK 6,000 to NOK 9,000 per month. This comes from the party’s alternative budget which will be launched on Monday.
– We want actual choices for families with children. If there is to be an actual possibility to choose the cash-for-care benefit, the amount must be increased, says Christian Democratic Party leader Knut Arild Hareide to NRK news.
He emphasizes that kindergarten/day care centers are also a priority in their budget proposal.
Cash-for-care benefit is offered to parents with children between the ages of one and two years and who do not attend kindergarten/day care.
The number of benefit recipients since 2013 has been between 26,000 and 28,000, when the cash-for-care benefit was limited to apply to only one-year olds.
