Queen Mary 2, the largest cruise ship that goes in transatlantic route, arrived at Oslo on Saturday morning with 3,100 passengers aboard.

At 08:00 O’clock the British cruise line docked at Akershus Fortress in Oslo. The ship was in the capital till 17:00O’clock, before it went on to Olden in Stryn at Sogn og Fjordane.

In addition, there have been two other large passenger ships in Oslo Saturday. It was Regal Princess with 3,600 passengers aboard and Wind Surf who had 300 aboard, but Queen Mary 2 is the largest ship that has visited Oslo in summer.

Along with ferry passengers represents the total of about 9,000 visitors to the capital, writes the Oslo Port on Facebook.

Queen Mary 2 was launched in 2004 and was at that time the longest, widest and tallest passenger ship that was built. Now the ship used for transatlantic traffic.

May is the month when the cruise season begins in earnest in the capital. Until the end of September is expected that over 70 cruise ships have to be at the Port, but fewer and fewer ships paving the way for Oslo.
