The Governmentwill appoint a new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to succeed Tore Schei who will reach the age limit. The Candidates’  legal political views will have a major impact on the appointment, writes the local newspaper Klassekampen. The decision is expected by the end of February. Just before New Year Justice Minister Anders Anundsen received  a report with reviews of the six current applicants. The report is secret, but Klassekampen has gained access to the committee’s mandate. Here, the Minister of Justice is clear that he wants a “written assessment of the candidates’ views on the Supreme Court’s legal political role.
