Few months after the parliament was finishing the harrowing battle over the tightening of asylum laws, the immigration and integration minister Sylvi Listhaug (FRP) opens for a rematch.

In an interview with Dagbladet, Listhaug is clear on her opinion that the tightening of immigration policy adopted in spring, does not go far enough.

– It is primarily stupid for the country that we did not get tightened more, says the Minister. She specifically mentions areas such as family reunification and regulations for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum.

– We have already warned Labour that laws should have been stricter in those areas.

– It should certainly not be ruled out that we have to tighten more. We must pay close attention to what is happening in Sweden and Denmark. If their tightening of asylum laws lead to more coming here, we must also take action, says Listhaug.
