A male nurse from Buskerud arrested last December and charged with assaulting more young boys has acknowledged the charges.

The man in the 50’s has been in custody after the arrest. The man’s defense lawyer, Ole Lien, confirms to Radio Norway that the man has declared himself to the police and that he has now recognized a penalty after the sentence. However, he disagrees with the extent of abuse that the police believes he has committed.

The nurse has worked at child wards at several of the country’s hospitals. According to the radio channel, he has also worked at hospitals abroad and has been closely associated with a voluntary organization in Norway where children and young people also participate.

“The investigation has revealed that the assaults have been going far back in time. How far I do not want to comment on now,” says police adviser Hans-Petter Aasen in the southeastern police district to the radio channel.

He describes the investigation as both extensive, time-consuming and resource-intensive. Norwegian police have also collaborated with foreign police in this case.
