Man accused of murder in Tromso jailed for four weeks

The man who is charged with the murder of a woman in Tromsø on Thursday night, is in custody for four weeks, NRK news reported.

The accused man in late 20s of foreign origin will be expelled from Norway. Why he still residing in the country, is unclear according to the newspaper Nordleys.

Furthermore writes Nordlys the accused and deceased should have been together in accordance with immigration, but that the relationship had ended within the past year. According to the newspaper’s sources the man expressed a desire to marry her, but she dismissed the idea.

The police did not want to comment on the information from the above local newspaper. At a press conference late Thursday night the police stated that there is a relationship between the accused and the victim.

Friday morning the police informed that they had tried to interrogate the accused, but that he wanted to explain himself to a defender before he talked.
