Police believe a man in his 60s has sublet apartments to prostitutes in several cities in Norway.

According to the newspaper Bergens Tidende the case concerns different apartments in Bergen, but the police have reason to believe that the man was involved with subletting accommodation to prostitutes in Trondheim, Drammen and Oslo as well.

The police identified a brothel in an apartment in central Bergen on Tuesday April 5th and soon after arrested a man in his 60s in Trondheim.

The man was taken into custody for four weeks by the Sør-Trøndelag District Court, but was released this Wednesday. According to the newspaper Adresseavisen, the police asked for two more weeks of custody but the judge declined. ‘The person charged has confessed most of the accused charges’, says police attorney Sigbjørn Oldren of the Trøndelag police district to Adresseavisen.
