A man in his 20s was killed in an encounter accident between a bus and a car on Osloveien at Horgen in Frogn on Friday morning.
– The investigation will hopefully provide clarity in the incident. The deceased is now sent for autopsy. The deceased have been identified and we have notified relatives, said chief investigator Morten Granerud in Eastern Police District.
The deceased was a man in his 20s from Hurumlandet. He was alone in the car, said Granerud to NTB.
Police were alerted to the collision just after 7 o’clock Friday morning. Police informed the local newspaper Akershus Amtstidende that the collision had been fierce, and the man died instantly.
The bus driver is taken care of a support within the bus company, while two girls who were passengers in the bus were taken care of by the crisis team. Neither the bus driver or the two girls were physically injured.
– All is questioned by police. The cause of the accident is not known and it is unclear what vehicle that came over in the other lane. Further investigations will show it, says Granerud.
He says the bus driver driving license are routinely seized, but stresses that there is no suspicion of drunken driving.
