Police are investigating an incident in October where a man in his 40s was found dead in a cell in Oslo Prison.
The man was an inmate in the B Block, and had been in prison for about a week when he died, reported the newspaper VG.

The investigation will show whether the man got the necessary medical assistance he was entitled to.

The night before he died, he was supposed to have been moved to a section where prisoners are supervised around the clock, as staff did not believe he was fit enough to be in the original department of the prison.

Section Chief, Rune Skjold, of the Finance and Environmental Crime Section in Oslo, said that police did not suspect any crime took place.

‘We have initiated an investigation about whether the deceased had received good enough monitoring of his healthcare. We have procedurally requested an autopsy report, but I cannot comment on its contents’, said Skjold.
