An elderly man is missing, and an older woman is in hospital after receiving life-threatening injuries after a fire in a residential building in Nesodden.

‘The fire has been extinguished, but we still have fire-fighters at the scene’, said operations manager, Øyvind Thoresen, of Eastern Police District to NTB at 08.30 on Sunday morning.

‘It means that we haven’t yet left, as a search of the fire’s location for the missing man continues’ said Thoresen.

Police hope to implement the search during Sunday, and Thoresen says there will be further investigation.

According to Aftenposten, a 77-year-old man is missing. He lived in the detached house with his 75 year old wife.

She got out of the house and was taken to Ullevål hospital with serious burns.

The hospital said on Sunday that her injuries are life threatening. The relatives have been notified, said Thoresen.

The message about the fire came in shortly after 22.00 on Saturday evening. Police gave information that all emergency services were on their way to Fagerstrand in Nesodden, where a residential building was on fire.
