Man pronounced dead at Ullevål hospital in Oslo after Moss stabbing

A man who was critically injured after being stabbed in Jeløy, Moss, died on Monday night as a result of his injuries.

The man was pronounced dead at 00:55, announced police officials in Oslo on Twitter.

The relatives have been notified, and the police didn’t want to release further information on Monday night. The deceased is in his mid-30s and from Moss.

A similarly -aged man has been arrested, and charged with attempted murder in the case, but the charges could be extended to murder on Tuesday morning, police told the newspaper VG.

The police arrested the suspected perpetrator at the scene after being notified of the knife related incident at 18.03 on Monday.

The first police to arrive at the scene were notified at 18.15 and they entered the apartment along with paramedics. They found a man with serious knife injuries.

The injured man was flown to Ullevål hospital in Oslo at 19.20 after receiving lifesaving treatment on site. According to Moss Avis, a surgeon was, by chance, close by and helped with first aid.

Stabbed in the upper body

According to Jon Erik Nygård of the Eastern Police District, the aggrieved was stabbed in the torso.

‘The incident took place in the residence of a third man, who was taken in for questioning. Both the perpetrator and the victim are known to the police’, said operations manager Nygård to the news agency, NTB, on Monday night.
