In less than two days, a man has been found over the alcohol limit three times, during controls in Ålesund. The man’s driver’slicense was confiscated the first time he was stopped, and the third time, the car itself was taken.
‘UP would have confiscated his driving license, but obviously, there was nothing to seize, since we’d already done it the day before’, said operations manager, Per Åge Ferstad, in Møre and Romsdal police district to the newspaper Sunnmørsposten, after the man was stopped for the second time by emergency police in Ellingsøy.
The man was stopped for the first time on Friday morning , the second time one day later, and the final time on Saturday night. On each occasion, his blood alcohol measurement was tested and found to be in excess.
‘Being taken by UP three times in such a short time is special. This driver showed behavior that doesn’t belong on the road’, said Ferstad.
