Man taken to hospital after brawl in Oslo

A man in his 20’s was driven to hospital with an injury to his face after a fight in Oslo on Friday night. Another man in his 20’s was arrested and charged.

 

“He’s initially charged with bodily injury, and we’ll see what happens,” said operations manager, Rune Ullsand of Oslo police district to NTB news on Friday night.

The injured man was sent to Ullevål Hospital and then Ullsand after being cut on his face with a sharp object.

The background to the fight, which took place in Calmeyer’s gate in downtown Oslo, is unknown.

The police reported the incident on Twitter at 04.34.

On Saturday morning, Operations Manager, Tor Grøttum,said the police had control of another person whom they had connected with the attack. The person had a preliminary status as a witness, but it is now working to identify the role he had.

At the same time, the police are looking for more people who were involved.

“There were five to six people involved in the fight, which was discovered by a police officer who was not at work. A person with a knife was seen running on Osterhaus gate, and we are now looking for the other people involved, including checking the camera surveillance in the area. There may also be more injured parties,” said Grøttum.
