Voter support for Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, has dropped below 60% for the first time in five years according to a poll.

56% of respondents said they will probably vote for Putin at the election expected in 2024,the survey showed. This is 10% lower than a year ago. Last time Putin had under 60% support was in 2013 according to the poll carried out by the Levada Center.

Putin has led Russia since 2000 and received six new years as president in March. But his popularity has fallen in the wake of a pension reform which means that people have to work for longer.
