Artist charged with sex extortion as «Miriam»

A 27-years-old artist from Bergen is accused of conning a man on a chat site. He pretended to be 15 -years-old «Miriam».

After the conversation with sexualized content was over, the man allegedly kept the log and contacted the other man several times. He supposedly claimed NOK 20,000. If he didn’t receive the money, he threatened to share the content of the chat with others, writes Bergensavisen.

According to the accusation, he threatened that he would otherwise bring «Miriam» to the police among other things.

The victim of the attempted extortion promptly went to the police himself instead. They soon discovered that «Miriam» did not exist and that he was the victim of an attempted scam.

The artist has been noted in Bergen’s music environment as a rising star. He has, for instance, collaborated with well-known names in his genre, according to Bergensavisen.

The court case against him will be held in Bergen District Court on August 27th. It is set aside one day in court for the case.

– He does not acknowledge culpability, says his defence attorney, Jørgen Riple.
