Nine out of ten who responded in a recent survey are satisfied with today’s health care. Meanwhile, only seven out of ten think that they will receive treatment at the same level of quality when they get old.
The survey have been made by TNS Gallup for Gjensidige, the newspaper Aftenposten writes.
About half of the respondents, believe that private health care is better than the public sector, and three out of ten expect to have to use private operators in the future. Two out of ten think the quality is going to get worse at public hospitals.
The Minister of Health, Bent Høie, is not surprised that the vast majority are satisfied with the health services.
– It says a lot about the wonderful job being done in health care. But there is still room for improvement, he said.
The Minister of Health believes that Norway has solutions that will also enable the population to be safe in the future, but that this will require changes. He expresses pleasure that many in the survey state that they place a great importance on exercising and keeping fit.
