NOK13 million to a new world heritage site

Norway’s most recent World Heritage Site, the Rjukan-Notodden industrial heritage, gets a grant of over NOK 13 million.
This year  NOK 50 million is awarded to the eight Norwegian World Heritage sites in the national budget. The  grants have been distributed through the Directorate of Cultural Heritage.
Bryggen is the largest recipient and gets NOK 17.5 million for projects connected to restoration of and protecting the site. The mining town Røros has received NOK 12.5 million.
The Climate and Environment Ministry has the overall responsibility for monitoring the world heritage in Norway.
